    About The Course

    Course Introduction.

R is a programming language and software environment for statistical computing and graphics supported by the R Foundation for Statistical Computing. The R language is widely used among statisticians and data miners for developing statistical software anddata analysis.Polls, surveys of data miners, and studies of scholarly literature databases show that R’s popularity has increased substantially in recent years.
R is a GNU project. The source code for the R software environment is written primarily in C, Fortran, and R.R is freely available under the GNU General Public License, and pre-compiled binary versions are provided for various operating systems. While R has acommand line interface, there are several graphical front-ends available.

How this course used by IT industry?

R and its libraries implement a wide variety of statistical and graphical techniques, including linear and nonlinear modeling, classical statistical tests, time-series analysis, classification, clustering, and others. R is easily extensible through functions and extensions, and the R community is noted for its active contributions in terms of packages. Many of R’s standard functions are written in R itself, which makes it easy for users to follow the algorithmic choices made. For computationally intensive tasks, C, C++, and Fortrancode can be linked and called at run time. Advanced users can write C, C++,Java, .NETor Python code to manipulate R objects directly. R is highly extensible through the use of user-submitted packages for specific functions or specific areas of study. Due to its S heritage, R has stronger object-oriented programming facilities than most statistical computing languages. Extending R is also eased by its lexical scoping rules.

    Salary range for the course?

    Data Analyst Salary (India)
A Data Analyst earns an average salary of Rs 309,785 per year. Most people move on to other jobs if they have more than 10 years’ experience in this career. The highest paying skills associated with this job are SAS, R, Data Mining / Data Warehouse, Visual Basic (VB), and SQL. Experience strongly influences income for this job.

    Prerequisites to this course?

If you have had any programming experience at all, you should be able to pick up the general R syntax quite easily. However, if you come from the traditional background of C/C++/Java, you are probably used to a procedural/Object Oriented paradigm. While you can still use R in a procedural/OOP way, R is best used in a functional paradigm (Functional programming).
Changing your approach to programming, from a procedural/OOP way to a functional programming paradigm would be more challenging. The best way to learn this, in my opinion, would be to just get started on real-life problems and then review your code against other similar code to see how you can improve. Stack overflow would be a huge help for this, as well as various blogs.
If you have not had any programming experience, I am not sure what kind of challenges you would face, but in some ways, you would be better off than someone who has already learnt programming using a procedural/OOP paradigm.

    How to do certification?

To become a Certified Data Scientist, it is mandatory to fulfill both the following criteria:
Completing any one project out of the four given by Simplilearn. The outcome of the project should be displayed to the lead trainer and the candidate is evaluated thereafter. Necessary screenshots of the project should be submitted via LMS.
Clearing the online examination with a minimum score of 80%
At the end of the course, you will receive an experience certificate stating that you have 3 months experience in implementing Projects using R,SAS and Excel.
